awesome site thanks for finding it and sharing it here.

I made an remix on one of the a cappellas there. had an "hiphop" song since before I thought could fit to it and I think it turned out pretty ok. please some feedback and tips would be nice specially since (as I mentioned before) I'm new at this vocal thing.

Nice song, like it a lot.

Ok, that was a blatant lie! Sorry, hehe... Here's the real deal: I'm listening on crappy speakers at work, BUT...
It sounds dull. Rapping goes on and on and there's no respite, even the hook thing just keeps going on with constant rapping.

This song's initial strenght lies in its instrumental part, but now the rapper destroys pretty much everything and you don't listen in so good on the musical programming. Again, this could be the crappy speakers, I'll listen to it all when I get home.

The trick most people use is to keep refrains and hooks very simple, in order to accentuate the lyrics. Here, there is just too much going on, no breathing room.

It just became messy with a too dense audiofield with no real hook to keep me interested.

Note that I'm not a fan of the genre (true, despite my chain part (which is very medlodic for a "rap")).

i have to disagree with souleye completely (the small print that is). I really like this track, the melodies are great and i dont think it sounds too busy, just some of the levels are a bit out.

i would lift the volume of the vocals a bit, drop the levels of the melodies a little, increase the bass on the drum slightly, and raise the frequency on the hihats so theyre above everything else.

anyway, its nice work. im going to check out that site after hearing this.

cheers

andy

Well, that's the last time I even try to listen to something that would require better speakers than to erupt a pc beep.

It's not as bad as I thought on a second listen... Not as cluttered. But, all in all, I don't like the rap genre anyway, as it's too monotonous for me. I can appreciate the good production but it's still not a song I'll save on my drive.

Well it's very melodic and has other stuff happening that's interesting, like sound effects during the rap and chip lines in the background. I live for melodies.

Meltic's song though, is mainly stabs and moodcreating chords, and no red line to follow (like the catchy/cheesy ooh geisha love refrain)

thanks andy for the constructive criticism, that is the sort of help I was looking for, will look over the mix when I find time. I should probably learn how to use a de-esser for vocals aswell. and I tried to keep the track very simple due to the vocals but I guess in the future I'll do instrumental stuff again so then it'll be more melodie based.

and souleye, even tho you may not think it, I posted this thing here to get some feedback on the song, not to hear how much crap this kind of music is and how boring it sounds compared too your awesome cool and way best chip music, just getting a little tired of hearing this chip propaganda all the time.

You're completely right. I'm completely caught up in my own world, where there are not as many subleties, things are black and white, and the listener is given everything straight to the point.

I'll just keep it focused then...

A laidback tune. The scratch in the beginning 00.28 suits well, more of this would be nice. Also, the hook with fiddled stereofield adds a nice wellneeded dimension to the song. The extra reverbed delays in the right channel bugs me a little 02:16, it's not there at 03:03. Then 03:09 on its back, on the left side. Perhaps this is intentional.
Good production, everything seems to be in place.

Don't worry if I'm partial to other music than yours. Your music has a bigger (and more mature) audience outside of the computer scene, where demands are higher than just making a catchy melody.

I heard it now!

The raps are tight!!!

I like the beat too...this is what you would call a good hip hop song and Toffe...you got yourself a job in remixing a track of mine if you are interested!

I like the drum arrangement and the instruments you used.
Good chilly melody and the tight raps suit perfectly.
Thatīs so far from someone whoīs down with that kind of music!

Gotta disagree with Souleyeīs very very small written stuff but you are excused due to your crappy speakers Razz.

I guess that depends on what songs you listen to.
Many Songs just have a beat and a bassline and some effects.
I donīt like that either.
So you better keep listening to my stuff, man Wink!
Melodies are everything to me! An tight raps too.

And about geisha love...
Since Souleye turned out being not down with my most favourite music genre I wanna retire from that project.
Which means I wonīt give my last parts to you
Evil or Very Mad

Just kidding man!!!!

Letīs do it Wink.

pretty nice stuff, i would have personally boosted the now-background stuff (namely the epiano) and what i would have listened more to for sure are some guitar melodies in the background, fitting the jazzy accompanying instruments. and a very subtle deessing could be handy around the break at 1:30. apart from this i enjoyed it much but can't give much advice on this since it's really not my genre. and you are welcome Smile

No not intentional, the a cappella wasn't in sync so I had to copy and past and clip the whole thing up. parts didn't match that's why I had to use diffrent parts to make the final thing and even now it's not in sync perfectly and the vocals was already wet. thanks for pointing it out it was one of those things I was afraid people would hear but I couldn't do much about.

gees I hardly understand myself, it's the hangover typing.

chief which one did you have in mind?

Or maybe "Ainīt no Thang" cause I donīt like my own beat there very much.

Or you pick one if you want...just check the snippets on my page.
