Posted: Thu Nov 16 2006 20:07 Hey, everybody! A model for minimalism? |
 |
Hey, guys! I finally figured out how to post my first madtracker creation (with Yannick's advice). I was hoping to get some input from ya'll. This is my first MT song (which is 'almost' finished). I will be making a few changes before I consider it totally done, but I was hoping to do so with some input from others. This is something I am using as representative of minimalism; a figure repeats through the entire piece, but (hopefully) does not make it bad because of that. It's called "A (d) minor Diversion"
Please let me know what you think!

first of Hi & welcome
okey, for a first track, its definately good
but,
Put some reverb on the percussion, maybe a bit of delay here and there.. makes it sound.. well.. nicer
dont have the percussion just going like tik-tik-tik-tik-tik-tik-tik-tik, make a rythm, have some offbeat percussion, variation ( I dont know at how many LPB you work (I gues 4 because thats madtrackers standard lpb) anyway, I would set this to 8 LPB, this gives you more Lines to work on)
Like this:

01----
02----
03----
04----
05----
06----
07----
08=========
09----
10----
11----
12----
13----
14----
15----
16=========
I really reccomend you to not use madtrackers standard samples (ofc highhat and snare doesnt reall matter, but I mean the sampels like pillars that you used )browse the web, get some other stuff to (heck if you ask I can upload you a nice pack)
I like the lead you used, it comes in at 1.38, it has smthing epic to it.. but, you should build up to it not all out of the sudden.. Bang.. a lead,
anyway.. good first track, you can be proud of it.. but you will kill your first tune when you get further with tracking
*sigh* who cant remember his first track..
well i cant because I softly killed it with my delete button ^^
I maybe write more tommorow.. I have to get upat 7 tommorow |

Whoever removed my last post -- can you put it back up, please, it's got the MT2 link instead of the mp3 link...I'd rather people have access to that one instead of the mp3. If you want, delete my first post and put up the second one instead. Again, the link is

¡¡¡WELCOME TO BIG BIG MADTRACKER COMMUNITY!!!
well... really, good MT2 file to be your first !!
i like the melody made with instrº1... maybe I would use it... i don't know:P! !
the only "surprising" thing, is make 64 channels, and only use..13-15 (i don't remember!)... Have you use any kind of tracker before??
The song is toooo much repetitive, but... all tracker did the same doing our first MT2 files(well... maybe MOD, S3M, XM, IT, etc).(when we was a "babys" on this world:P!)
<<--->>
Maybe, you have to spend time trying and looking all MadTracker functions(manual&automations).
Then, download LOT's of good samples... do enchance your creativity, and go to VSTplugins section and dowload some of them.
and, of course, any kind of kestion, use Mad'forum!! or http://elektomusika.es.mw (i know i know, i'm always doing publishing:P !!)
