- Stunned -

Total awesome track. Some of the best trance I've heard in fact. The mood is chilling, the plucks are soothing and the lead holds it perfectly together. I somethings think your tracks tend to be muddy but not this one. And the beat! The kick delivers punch while the rest just floats. GREAT WORK! Very Happy

When the first six words in the responses to come are: Sounds great, Awesome, Stunned, Total awesome; it's hard to not download this track, even tho trance nowadays is totally unknown for me Smile

anyways I give it a try: clear and nice quality on the sound, nice mix but I'm not to happy over that hihat which cuts in my ears abit (could be this laptops crappy soundcard?) also I can't help but recognize that drum beat so very very (too) much. is that a worldwide spread loop? and last but not least the melody; why does it stop so sudden and starts over. I was almost "in-trance" when it started over again. somehow it feels like it's building up to a even more dreamy melody which will be added into a even greater climax but that never happens (don't get me wrong the melody which is here now is great). did it sound harsh? not meant to be. this is just minor, minor things, which I think would give this track even more enjoyment. production skills +. would think every mt trance producer would love to get their hands on this mt2 file Wink

thanks everyone!

toffe - ive mulled over this track for a long time now and think its the only one ive ever been completely happy with. the hihat i deliberately cut through the mix to tailor it more for the dancefloor (it seems to get me dancing when i hear it in other tracks).
the percussion is actually, bar one quiet loop, all single hits, but i think the sequence does sound quite familiar.
as for the stopping and starting, i kept putting in big epic breakdowns as i thought it was quite fitting for the melodies, hence i also ran the risk of transposing the track near the end (which is meant to be the big climax) to make it even more epic. saying that though, a more dubby trance version is on my list of things to do so your feedback is noted for later (thankyou).

anyway, thanks to everyone for the great feedback and glad youve enjoyed listening.

cheers

andy

This new version is absolutely massive. I love the new fx you gently squeezed in. The outstanding hihat is also cleverly done, since it indeed generates a rather undeniable dancing pulse. The beats are, oh well, massive. You should be very happy about this track. I'm not certain if it is creative enough to rock trance charts, but it sure as what is good enough to deserve proper attention by more than just the people round here. Go and send your track to whatever radio station (proton radio?) and label you can find that covers the area this track is placed in. I definately would enjoy hearing this track in a mix by James Lauer of whatever other progressive dj's there are around.

So, in a nutshell, yes, this is your best track so far. In all my bittered opinions towards music as a critic, I'm not sure what to flame in this track, which is quite remarkable.

i want to make a remix if ya like to have 1 Smile

i am also busy with a new track this time within mt2!
only with superwave products and some samples
and maybe i will use some fx (prolly from kjaerhus)

the track is stunning, that's for sure!
but indeed: (and i can't do that well as well) the melody can go on longer

wowzers! thanks again everyone. im going to send it round to a few labels, along with another trance track im making atm so we'll see what sort of response i get. ill keep you posted on how it goes if you're interested.
in the meantime i wrote an ambient breaks version of it. its not bad, i went for my "wall of sound" approach, just sticking more and more elements to get a big atmosphere. it seemed to work. i cheated a little on the beat, using a hihat loop. heres the link:

www.am-1.co.uk/tracks/AM-1_Trance_Position_(Ambient_Version).mp3

let me know what you think.

thanks again, and happy listening.

andy

xiphiuz - id be happy for you to do a remix, ill send you a midi of the tune rather than the whole track (need to keep it to myself). itll be great to hear your interpretation of it.

The Ambient version is gorgeous! It feels a bit like the old Autechre (Incunabula comes to mind), in combination with the Toytronic IDM-sound. I think the track would benefit if it had this one remarkable sound (some original lead synth or mysterious and repeated effect), but I think that's one of the hardest thing to do. This attempt is nevertheless much appreciated!
