another new track by me. i think it kind of sounds like the menu music on an arcade racing game (like ridge racer or sega rally) which is why i called it what i called it.

if anyone has any comments i would love to hear them.
cheers

The beginning (especially) strongly reminds me of the sand zone in ThunderForce IV (God, what game, what music, what...)
I have no idea what I should say about this, though... Don't even know the genre. Chillout, breakbeat? The 0:50-part (slowdown? breakdown? slowup? Don't know the term) is nice, gives a bit of break. Though, who needs a bit of a break at 0:50. I would've liked it later on.
The pad in the back is nice, I myself consider it more a lead than the actual(?) lead. Drums are nice, multi-dimensional I guess is the term. Works for me quite OK as an easy relaxing song, not for active listening. |

hi ravana
thanks for your comments. i have absolutely no idea what genre this track is, i suppose its sort of retro house, funky filter breakbeat (which isnt a genre).
i made it for a website so the fact you think it is background music is awesome as that is exactly what i was aiming for.
thanks again

Ey Andy,
I like it , but that's not really new ...
Why don't ya SELL it to a website designer ??
I think the chicago like chords together with the breakbeat and strings gives a nice mood to this song, i enjoy listening to it.
cheers,

Nice Track, no question.
But I donīt like the melody so far, but that doesnīt have anything to do with your skills, itīs just that I donīt like select menu tracks.
So thatīs why itīs hard for me to listen to it.
But I like the break a lot....The cutoff and Resonance on the whole track like in Madonnaīs Hung up.
Good production though, but I like "City Lights" a lot more .
Keep it up |

Aaaaaaaaaaaah! I finally know what game this song sounds so much like! I forgot the name, but I atleast know which one is was. It was a beat-em-up (quite identical to Double Dragon) for the Sega Megadrive that I always played at my nephew's house (he could afford one; I was only 13 or something and was in infinite love with my NES). Streets Of Rage might have been the name of the game; I'll check on that later on.
Anyway: the song will probably work fine for background music. It's not special enough to be a main listening tune, but definately acceptable (and enjoyable) while using an application such as a website.
[streets of rage 2. yup. that's him alright. oh tears of melancholy and joy!].

A quite nice song but I think it's a little bit slow, And also the string-lead isn't loud enough. Skillfuly tracked!
BTW: SoR2 is awesome |
