Posted: Thu Mar 02 2006 07:26 New Song, and COMPLETE! |
 |
I started this song in an attempt to get some inspiration to finish my OTHER song... and ended up finishing it all in one sitting. Personally, I don't like it, and I don't know why. Bleagh. Anyway, tell me what you think... it's my THIRD OFFICIALLY COMPLETED SONG!!!
*Edit* lmao, I forgot to put in the link... >_>

hi mate,
had a couple of listens and thought id try and give you some pointers as per request.
1st - maybe increase the bpm a little? its pretty slow at the moment.
2nd - try using the higher frequencies a bit more, at the moment its heavily weighted in the low frequencies.
3rd - for your low frequencies try sidechannel compression. heres a link:
http://trance.nu/v3/forums/viewtopic.php?t=112872
basically put the outputs of your bass and kick into a seperate track and apply a compressor (classic compressor works well). this will even out the bass and stop the bass and kick overlapping. you can try sticking other channels in there as well and see what it sounds like. ive been quite successful doing this.
4th - try using some more percussion like toms/snares etc to give the track a little more drive.
i like the track itself, there are a few nice touches (i love the sound from claw). you could also try sticking the crash cymbal on the drum roll at 2:40. any more questions give me a shout.
cheers
