Cool guitar solo (100% MadTracker)

It sounds like a wicked electric lead guitar, although my solo was bit amateurish All you need to make it (or something like it) is the Claw synth from reFX, mda Bandisto of the mda plugins pack, and the Classic Chorus plugin from Kjaerhus Audio. (You can undoubtedly use others, but these were the ones I found it with) Using the Claw's default settings, play around with the Bandisto until it sounds the way you want. Then, stick a crapload of new, empty patterns into your song. Turn on record mode, press play, and start goofing around with different notes while it's playing. This'll give the solo an element of randomness, and therefore realism. If you want it to have better timing, put in a click track. When you're done recording, MAKE SURE you put the first note from your solo into a different track. Otherwise the portamento won't work and the solo will sound unrealistic. Next, just put chorus on it for some depth (I found the "Fat on Rhodes" preset worked nicely) and you've got a solo! Submit it to a guitar forum and see what they say... These are, of course, just guidelines. Add wah, vibrato, tremolo, etc, until you've got the sound you like, then run with it. Enjoy!!

Nice FX... but does not sound like a guitar to my ears neither. To hear how some nice - also 100% madtracker - guitar solos are made, with basic guitar samples + virtual guitar amps, you can get an exemple here : .ogg version .mt2 version It's done using the Klaejhus suite (bundled with MT) and Simulanalog's excellent guitar suite. agh, you guys are right... it sounds nothing like a guitar. The only excuse I can make is that it was late... One of those times where you make something, and go to bed thinking it's great, and you wake up in the morning and you think, "What the hell is THIS!?!?" Sorry Although I HAVE come up with a pretty nifty 'lectric didgeridoo...

I got to thank you for providing this information. I tried the samples and it is surprising how great your inspiration increases as the sound enhances. The Claw sample itself was interesting, but the extra color added by the presence of the chorus plug-in was fantastic. I can't wait to create more melodies using that sample - combined with other instruments.
