Posted: Sat Aug 25 2007 12:47 Suggestion to include meta-data in forum releases |
 |
Hey,
as I discussed in this topic I started thinking, the music page/section to the left seems to be another thing that is not as actively monitored these days as it used to be. One thing that is good about the music page though is that it's fairly easy to find songs of particular artists or genres. Not so with the music forum, where a lot of people post their stuff also. So my suggestion would be that artists include some basic meta-data in their posts when they post a new song, so it would be easier to find items of interest using the forum search. For instance:
Title: TheCoolNewSong
Arists: Sunbuster
Status: in-progress OR completed
Genre: Psychedelic punk, industrial
Release year: 2007
Any thoughts? Of course, for this to work, people should use tags that are common in music players and not create their own. Also for the status tag to work, we'd have to agree on common types so they actually can be used in the search to limit results.
This was just a thought that occurred to me so feel free to shoot it down or give other suggestions |

Yes. I been trying to find songs in the forums more than one time and it is truly a pain. |
