I think its an ok track. I like the drum sounds, the bass, Fx thats all good, they go well together. There are some pretty trippy parts in the song with Fx and whatnot, which is a definite strong point in my opinion. The beginning and end where dope, especialy the beginning. The middle was ok I thought except that it felt to me that it lacked rising action, probly cause there was no lead. I almost thought the beta was better the way the bass was louder. Anyway I think the track is not one of my preferred genres (I prefer a strong melody/energy) and I would bet its bang on for the style you were going for.

Here's my opinion ..

Well, since acid is more a way of expressing a special feeling, atmosphere and mood, (like dancing under influence of drugs), it's an okay track.. I think it misses some of the really druggy "Tb303" lines though. The last one was cool, but it was way too long wait before it appeared..

I would also like to hear some more elements in the tune, and a bit more organised "play/fool around" with the drums... Would be cool with a little string high up in the frequency scale; maybe a bit disharmonic.. Smile

Also, mixwise, I would like to have the bassdrum a bit more in the front of the mix; maybe using some more compressor to make the overall mix a bit tighter.. Not too much though, we don't want that Eric Prydz pumping here.. Smile

Btw, how did you achieve the acid bass lines, a'la tb303? VSTi instrument, samples or loops?

Good work anyway!

/Daniel

"It's bang for the style i'm going to?" ...aehmm sorry, my english is not that good Wink what does it mean?

thnk you for your comment anyway. i agree, that there is some monotony in the midpart.
maybe it's because this song is meant to be a Track played on a Techno-party after midnight. thats why there is no lead.
And you are right with the bassline. I think i messed it up by using a side chain compressor for the bass drum.
i try to fix it, but i don't now very much about mastering... unfortunately. Crying or Very sad

You mean in the way many old acid songs used the string (a high tone played for a long period of time) ?
I thought about it, but my intention wasn't creating an Acid Track but a minimal track with some acid influence Smile
that's also why i didn't strain the "tb 303" that much Wink
But i'm going to try it in my next "Acid Minimal" track Wink

I tried it. but as a result, unfortunately, the whole song got a little bit too dump.
So i tried using a side chain compressor, but with the result that the "TB 303" lost some of it's power compared to the beta track...
Sorry, but i have no idea how i could fix this problem Sad

Oh, there aren't any loops in the song Wink and only 4 samples (a reverse crash,a shaker and two short effects)
the rest are vsti's. i archived the tb303 effects by using madtracker's ability of controling vsti's via automation Wink

"Its bang on" means its accurate, like an arrow that hit the bullseye. I was just meaning that you accomplished the style you were "aiming" for, so to speak.

And please dont take my comments to mean that I think your song sucks, its just not my style. I did however realy appreciate certain aspects. some trippy parts in there Cool

Short Translation:

Not really my music but well produced and reminds me of the 90´s.
Would be suitable to be played in the right club!

Thumbs UP!

BTW:

I like Drain Dream a lot!
Actually more than that track! Finish it soon Wink.

Maybe that's why this forum is about to die Rolling Eyes
Ok, since this topic was opened for getting some feedback about

I used silver box and audiorealism's bassline for the acid lines. I like their sounds Smile
