Both songs were made a while ago, but I have since re-worked them. Dont believe I've posted them on here before, so they'll be all new to you guys Very Happy

"Im Dat Guy"

"Hard Times"

*On a side note, does anyone know someone, or have any connections within the music industry to get things heard? Basically every record label does not accept "Unsolicited Material". How else am I going to get these instrumentals heard?

Hey JayBaller,

Haven't heard your beats, but there are probably millions of guys like you. They all want labels to hear their music. The oldskool way of sending in demo's probably won't work anymore. Id you're serious about this I would start by using the power of social networks. Get on myspace, get on youtube, maybe there are some other social networks with a focus on music? And then most of all, make connections in these networks. Valuable connections. Other musicians and the sorts.

Hope this is a bit helpful.

Regards,

Walter

The "old" way works just fine.. Though myspace tends to help, many labels are on myspace nowadays Very Happy

The problem I faced is, that my stuff didnīt get heard.

The "old" way is not really bout whether your stuffis good or not, it is more about getting heard or not.
I donīt wanna know how much material well known labels get daily.

The best thing is when you have connections as in when you know some people working here or there.

After two more tracks Iīll send demos out again and if nothing happens I wonīt try no more.
To me itīs all about fun in the first place.

Good luck Smile.

Appreciate the comment Amok... I made those two a while ago - I can bring some melodies to the table as well Very Happy

I see the only problem with myspace is that in order to get the instrumentals heard, you have to post a million times on other artists' pages and hope that someone clicks your profile to listen to your music. There is some girl on MTV - Tela Tequila - her music is nothing special, yet somehow she added 1,000,000 friends or something like that and all of a sudden she's on the top of the unsigned artists page. To manually go through and try to add 1,000,000 people to your friends list is basically impossible. She must have found a program, that manually added random people. She wouldn't give out the information on how she added so many friends on the late night talk show either, only to say "I was busting my @$$ and it was a lot of hard work."
Anyway, I havent tried sending in any of my stuff yet because of that "No Unsolicited Material Accepted" reason, but I guess I need to call these people and find out how to get my things "Solicited". I do agree Walter that connections are probably most important. It could mean the difference between a low talent artist/producer getting recognized, while another artist/producer with loads of talent goes unrecognized. Connections mean EVERYTHING! Sorry for turning this into a novel...
