 |
Hey folks!
I've gotten myself into a pickle jar here. I'm currently working on a remix for a friend, and the track has worked itself up to a point where it is basically calling for a guitar solo. Cheesy, I know. This would be perfectly fine, except that I cannot perform anything that isn't a basic G major, let alone shred a guitar.
So I'm asking around here!

This is just a short snippet of the remix so far, to give an idea of what there is to work with (the solo-to-be kicks in at 0:38, after the piano break). It's still very much WIP - a lot of it has been roughly sketched out to an end point, but the general idea is still there.
If anyone here can pull out a clean recording of a guitar solo (or knows someone who can), and is interested in helping out, please let me know and I'll pass on some extra details/direction. I'd be super grateful for it. |

If I could play guitar I'd help you Lollie. Can't you just use some cheesy sounding softsynth (and do a parody of a guitar solo)?
I just realized I'm saying this without having listened. I'll do it later. |
what is hip?

Haha, once you listen, you'll probably realize that cheese isn't really an option. Besides, my solos are very hit-or-miss. |

I could play, but absolutely nothing fancy. I suck with the guitar, and have lots of static in the background. However, I thought that there are plenty of transposing programs such as melodyne, which will allow you to play your stuff i G, then just snap it to the scale you want. |

I loved the song. I'm working on doing a solo for it right now. I'll play over the whole track and send you what I play so that you can edit it however you want.

Haha, oh man, I had a "wait WHAT" moment for a second there. Guessing you took a small look through the WIP folder to find the full track?
Seriously man, that'd be so awesome. Thank you! |

Yes I do.
I use Ableton Live occasionally for timestretch effects and some retiming/pitching, but MadTracker's still my weapon of choice. |
