 |
Error report Mt25rc5fix2. System: AMD athlon 650Mhx, 640Mb ram, windows ME.
Summary: Error-reports still show up and they tend to show up always when I quit program. VST instruments or Rewire were not involved or used.
So, I installed the MT2.5 RC5 fix 2 again by the instructions given on the install page, and the previous version of mt was of course uninstalled. First when I start the program, mt seems to work alright for some time, I can load modules, play them, config my settings, check that the wave export is there as an option, look at about box, check parameters. Basically I can do anything. This time I do not test, load or try vst instruments though.
But trouble starts when I quit program as a test, it gives me an endless loop of these messages.
1. Access violation at address BFF459EA in module 'USER32.DLL'. Read of address 7F90FC40.
2. Mt2 has caused an error in <unknown>.
Mt2 will now close.
Then I boot. Madtracker still acts the same. I can't make the endless loop of errormessages to stop when I quit, so I need to boot again.
New try. I load some preset-samples. Seems to work fine. I save the test module, export it to wave and it works. I switch to directsound device as recommended in config mt2. Buffer size is set to 25, with minimum delay. Seems to work fine. I switch to my own test module, export again and it works and plays fine.
So, it works as it should. But how about quitting! Let's test...
And again, I get this...
"Access violation at address BFF459EA in module 'USER32.DLL'. Read of address 7F90FC40."
This time, it's not endless loop but actually stops to show up after five(?) clicks.
I start the program again. Test the channel eq, which sounds awesome btw I also test routing channel one to fx channels 15+16 (delay & mtreverb2), works great. I play around for some minutes. No crash, and I can save the module. But, lets test the quit again...
This time, I get this same again. Now, endless loop style.
1. Access violation at address BFF459EA in module 'USER32.DLL'. Read of address 7F90FC40.
2. Mt2 has caused an error in <unknown>.
Mt2 will now close.
So, I don't really know what to do about this. I hope this error report helps to spot the cause for this bug. |

Ok, I upgraded my system to Windows XP and did a clean install for MT2.5 RC5 Fix2 so that solved this problem. |

That error would only appear on Windows 9x, not on WinNT-based versions.
I found the problem and fixed it.
