qbical - live set

Hey all,

I did this liveset the other day, it's all done with ableton live, with loops I exported from madtracker, on my powerbook, wich was at the time a bit stuffed with useless programs that slowed the thing down...
So there are some stutters... Embarassed

Anyway, I was opening that night so that's pretty hard because at first there was no audience to react to, but from about 25 mins into the set thing start to get good Smile

Download it here ( 70 MB 160kbit mp3 )

Tracklist :
Stella
Sunspots
My Machine ( edit )
Wake Up Call
Poolside Loving ( edit )
Whype
Since u been gone remix
All just a dream
Starz

enjoy!
oh and check my website for future shows Smile

I liked the end of the set, from about 40 mins on, more my kind of music. Especially All just a dream was a good fit imo. The beginning had too much of what sounded like bit errors and it sounded a bit low quality (bit errorsish sounds occured later on also, but didn't disturb that much, since the music in general was better imo).

Lovely! Plain lovely! Posted it on my own site, and might post it at the weblog of KindaMuzik too. The latter depends on the current content there though.

hmm, I'm guessing there weren't that many women on the floor at that point. Either that or the cameraman is hoping to find a special friend, since he was following QBical around all the time Wink Mr. Green

Yeah, the interview I'm sure was very funny, IF ONE COULD UNDERSTAND ANYTHING THAT WAS SAID! Rolling Eyes

the set is really really good. your music is quite leftfield without being inaccessible. and on the video it sounds really good (its got that, impossible to reproduce convincingly, club reverb).
how did you get into playing live? and whats it like? were you nervous?

Very impressive!

I wish I could join a party where you play live.

I heard some parts of it...gonna hear the whole thing for sure.

I like the remix of subg a lot!

This is good clubmusic in a whole!

Since I heard "Intimacy" and "left in the rain" from you some years ago I like checking out your tracks and your development.

Very good work and very professional Wink.

Peace!
chiefy

The "Since u been gone remix" is Great!
Sounds like some heavy "beat repeat" useage...

@ qb: stutters and glitches are "features" in Live 5. Wink
