Hi everyone,
Here is the first result from a coop between two Madtracker producers, bigandymac and myself.
We started out with an instrumental track, sending it over and back to each other using MSN, and the track developed from there. On the end we had to put some vocals in it, so Paul Oakenfold's "Someone like you" vocal appeared on this track.
Any Feedback is appreciated:

Cheers,
Franklin. |

A strong coop!
I think the vocals are cramping the song a bit. Here and there its like it shows that the vocals are made for another song. I thought the overall sound was pretty great - and I hope you guys will rememeber the rest of us when you make it big! |

The composition, ambience and melodies (for its genre) are amazing! I must disagree with Martin, since I would not be able to tell that the vocals were meant for another song. The combination between 80's Franklin-style and 00-AM-1-style gives rise to interesting things, apparently. The overall sound is extremely transparant and intriguing to listen to!
There is one major drawback: the hihats and claps (starting at 1.43). Their almost absent, which removes the vibe and power from the song. Isn't it wise to crank up the high freq's in the final mix?*
*I'm currently having the flu, and I hear that my entire perception is messed up at the moment. It's nevertheless the first (and only) thing that I noticed concerning problems with the track. |

thanks for the comments everyone, i think our collab could get some great results (this is the first one we've done after all).
we're gonna get our own vocalist for this track. the vocal we've used was just for practice and as a demo.
the percussion does get drowned out a little when the mix is going in full force, thanks for that tip inge.
we'll keep you all posted on our future projects and how this one goes.
thanks again

Damn!
My two favourite Trancemakers made a track together!
Thatīs like when Jackie Chan and Tony Jaa (Ong Bak) make a movie together.
Or Mike Shinoda and LL Cool J do a song together.
I always loved your melodies and I love this one too. Foī sure.
the vocals sound very good and if I hadnīt known then i would have thought that that female sang specially for this track cause it suits very well.

Yeah, I gotta agree with that. The clap and the hihat sound too weak.
But thatīs only one little little thing in this very big HIT!
Keep it up, guys! |

Hey there!
Like your track.
The arangement is good!
At 2.43 the song starts with full power- great!
Love the melody!
Did you use VSTīs? I think yes - the quality is high!
Donīt realy like the vocals - too often used.
You should do more things together!

The percussion problems remains (even now that the flu is fading away), but the song itself is truelly marvellous. It remains here on my desktop, being listened atleast once or twice per day. Please solve the percussion problem and add own quality vocals, and you would have a one hit wonder. |

Thank u all for the great and motivating feedback.
I'll work on the percussion part today and post the results later on.
We have to work on the custom vocals, that could take some more time, but we keep u all informed about that one as well.

Just checked it via my studio headphones (and almost flu-free perception). It's already way better. I can clearly hear the clap at each second bassdrum, and I can even make a distinction between the closed and open hihats. It immediately sounds more powerful. I still need to listen it on normal speakers, but I think you already made a significant progress. |

very nice track! nevertheless some critism/tips:
- basslines are to much in the way of the kick and thin lead if you ask me. the kick is ploppy, fatten it up.
- hats are missing high. the whole high is missing imho.
- lead is too thin: use unison/chorus or whatever
btw: my tracks aren't better.. but maybe you can do something with these tips |

Well, I have to agree with Martin. The vocals don't fit. They sound as if they're a separate track, and you're about to fade in the next track. Theys sound alone, not part of the track. But you'll probably be able to fix that if you use your own vocalist. They should perhaps be sung on a higher note, something that comes a bit closer to what I assume is the lead instrument.
Another note, the bassline sounds a bit weak imo. Not in the sence that it isn't audible, but in the sence that it doesn't give that power rumble. Same with the kick. Percussions could come out a bit more.
I'm beginning to wonder if the track isn't perhaps compressed a bit too much, and this would be the root of the "problems"? |
