Hi there ,
Just another day , and starting of another track (i seem to have problems with finishing tracks lately, and oh yes i know this is a very common problem )
Anyways, what i have here is a new attempt of a fresh track, 2 things i'm not sure about , The chords, and the piano part (it's not propperly mixed down yet so it is to loud anyways). Maybe some of your feedback can give me a little kick in the right direction ... Or maybe i just have to bin this one and take a fresh new start

The main idea is okay'ish. Nothing special, but okay'ish. It's rather nice that the gated string isn't *that* gated, but that the individual hits seem to blend into each other.
Some points:
The bassdrum seems not to integrate properly into the sound. Maybe some cutoff of high frequencies would help.
The piano is horrible. I first thought it was detuned.
The power of percussion is too low. Increase the hats and the clap. |

@ G3, hehe, Nemesis will be finished somewhere soon
@ Inge, Thanx for the feedback, after listening again with a clear head*, i must tell that the paino part is out, it was pretty horrible hehe*. On the percussion and basskick part thanx for pointing, i'll put some sidechain compression on it so it's more dynamic, and adjust the basskick in Drumatic a bit so it's sounds more in place, maybe layering up with another basskick layer and use another sidechain compresson on the two basskicks and bassline.
Thanx for the feedback !
*Tip: Never try to figure out a lead/melody line while suffering a hang over !! |

i think the chords are really good. they have a nice chilled out vibe and will provide a great basis for your track.
a good way of getting a thumping kick is to layer another kick (sample) over the top and slightly delay the start (cut and paste a very short bit of silence). then stick in an off beat sub bass with triangleII to level off the bottom end.
the piano i thought was pretty nice, although as inge says slightly out of tune, but that can be easily fixed. ill be interested to see where you go next with this as its a great start to a track (if you need a remixer btw, im in!)
cheers
