Technically it sounds good, don't think I would change anything about it... Perhaps remove a bit of the (white) noise you have on the kick, it kind of rises above everything else.
On the structural side though, I think the track is simply too long. It doesn't have enough to keep it interesting all the way through. I caught myself checking the position of the progress bar when the track was only half way through. Yes, it's a trance track, but to be honest there wasn't anything that interesting about it. It uses structures that are familiar to anyone who's listened to trance for a while. Simply put, it is a basic trance track, one in the line of many.
Besides this, I think the track has a sort of summery vibe to it, which I like. It could work well in clubs I think, not as a show stopper perhaps, but as a transition track. |

thanks sunbuster. i had thought exactly the same thing, that it went on too long. every pattern is different, but not by enough i think. ill look at shortening it.
im glad it sounds good technically, thats the main thing ive been aiming for recently.
thanks again
andy
ive lopped off 2:30 of the track so its a much more manageable 6:41, compared to 9:12 as before. thanks again sunbuster (someone commented on ctg that it was too long also ) |

My opinion:
Same as sunbuster, get rid of the noise/hi-hat on the basedrum...it makes it worse even more when the snare kicks in. It sounds so MIDI/80's.
About the track...a bit boring indeed, try some vocals (get a nice looking chick who can sing ) In your other track - Backlash the lead melody is more powerfull it sticks out of the rest, while in this track it isn't. Good luck! Your sound quality still amazes me! |

You're really creative nowadays, aren't you?
Are all these tracks made with Reason?
Because if they were done in MT, I know I'd like to pick your brains. |

thanks for the comments guys.
pablo - i totally agree on it being a bit boring, i took off 2:30, got rid of the white noise on the kick, and im also in the process of making the lead a lot more powerful. it was only using 3 oscillators before, now there are 6, and ive added distortion to make it a bit more dirty (sounds way better, thanks for the advice )
souleye - everything is done in madtracker, i tried reason for a while, but imo its no better than madtracker, and everything takes much longer to do (even when i got fairly well practiced with it). ill be happy to answer your questions.
cheers
