A quick on the go review:
Liking the thump of the basskick, drums have a nice swing. Not so fond of the bells/rhodes -twinkling being that much out of sync from the main beat. Sounds like there are two tracks playing in a DJmix that aren't beatmatched. Later in the track when the lead is the main focus it works a bit better. I like that the track doesn't sport that much reverb, instead being a almost completely dry. In the end the track got my feet movin' anyway. |

You surely got an extraordinary style!
And there truly are songs from you which I like a lot.
This one is not my favourite but that´s just a matter of taste, ok!
I like the drum arrangement.
And I like some parts too...the ones with the lead and the bassline.
But all in all it sounds quite monotone for me, but this ight be because I´m not quite a fan of that music.
For someone who is into this type it could be a must-have!
And I respect the effort you put in producing this track, which sounds very professional.
But this just ain´t my thing and that hectic beep sounds during the whole song are well-made but not my cup of tea and to me kinda annoying.
With other words:
Well produced track, but doesn´t beat "bend", "intimacy" or "left in the rain" (which are my favourite tracks) in any way in my opinion .
Peace! |

I like the track!
The inhaling is cool!
And I like that blippedeplopp that chief didn't like ;P
Although I must say that I really can't feel the thump thump that makes you wanna dance. |

i like the elaborate way you have developed a simple theme, overall its a very interesting sound, and the end product sounds very pro.
i like the perc, what do you make your kicks with? they always have a really nice sound. |

I use battery and import my own samples into it, that way you can do some crazy things with envelopes and stuff linked to the velocity of the notes |

Do you use a midi keyboard for tracking? I'd like to learn more of the workflow... |

Only in cubase, but this remix is MT only. That bell arpy sound is just a sample I programmed in a 16th note kind of pattern and then went over it with dfx's buffer overide, and used that to retrigger stuff. When you then go mental with some parameters of that vst and use some extreme EDx on the 16th notes you get some wicked sounds
what do you want to know ? I'll explain it... |

I was mainly interested in hearing how people use midi keyboards in mt. Not "i just press the keys", but more practical things like.....
how midikeyboard and computer keyboard work beside eachother on your desk, which one you have in front of you the most, do you swap often or are they beside eachother and YOU move, maybe 2 chairs?
if you were to have a big synth instead of a small midikeyboard, there would be some serious issues with this because you'll want to navigate inside the tracker alot as well..
i think some keys can be programmed to the midikeyboard like start, stop, record.... are they enough, which do you miss... do they feel comfortable as opposed to the patterns you've become used to on your keyboard (placement wise)..
well... a translation of what keys used, perhaps with a pic of your midikeyboard could help...
i dont know if you think this is silly, but if one has a crowded desk then these things can weigh in. |
