Hi Everyone,

As some of you know, I'm new here. New at music creation too. In the last week I have been working hard on this song. Its called To The Stars.

Hope you like it,
Feedback appreciated, constructive criticism welcome.

Well this is a start! You've just started to learn how to use Madtracker, and you handle it good to be a newbie!

The melodies are, hrm, rather odd. But by the time you write more and more you will get more feeling for them.

A few tips:
Try not to make a competition out of using as many sounds as possible.

Try to figure out a theme which you can stay around. To make it easy you could to begin with start to think in classic terms of verse and chorus, which is those two themes that will have something in common, like a melody that sounds like each other, but the second one could be a bit developed from the first one. While your at it you could also add a little middleplay.

Try to start out with a good bassline and chord line, and then make a melody out of that, rather than vice versa.

Do not use too many tracks when you're new to this.

Keep it up!
/Daniel

Thank you c-frog for comment and criticism. I must have read your message 20 times. I think I understand what you have said rather well. Forming this song, I was playing around and trying out all the features I could try. lol Yea I know I was all over the board. I used alot of samples because I didn't want it to be boring with just a few and I guess I overdid it. I bounced from theme to theme.

When I started to create this song, after choosing my samples and vst plugins to use (in which I then added more to create the sounds I wanted) I wanted to stay with a theme, but then I found it would be repetitive, and didn't know exactly how to change it...
The art of staying around the same theme, and having two close theme. Gonna work on it Smile

Thanks!

likes the sounds... seems.. amiga sounds.. Mario bross as say StyrmanLjungberg ..

Bears good for be your first song... but, really, it's repetitive... as usings samples as rythm of them...

I think you have good idea about music sounds... because all notes sounds good, have you played any kind of instrument ??

well, practise a los with effects of MadTracker and some kinds of VST plugins, it can make MORE MORE better any kind of sounds / song...

In short word, good for a first song!

Thanks everyone for the nice suggestions and comments. I see exactly what you are saying. I immediately went and downloaded like 8-9 VST plugins and added some to my drums, hihats. I got depth now! lol.

No, I'm not a musician or haven't played an instrument really well, I feel completely restricted when using just 1 instrument. I Love tracking though.

I've been working really hard on my re-make. When I am finished, I want to post it for all to listen and see if I actually improved it.

Happy Tracking Fellow trackers.
