I know, remixing old gametracks isnt very popular here, but its great fun and a way to improve my musical skills for me.
Maybe some of you know this track. This time i decided to remix an Amiga-Gametrack: Wings of Death - Level 6 by Jochen Hippel. It was a really awesome Shoot´em-Up with great music.
This is my first attempt to work with compressors. And if you dont know the original, maybe you could comment the technical aspects...  Thanks...

well, for the first, you´re right, remixing is not very popular anymore 
the second thing is that i´m a bit unsure about you....some weeks ago you posted something that sound much more modern that this "single-oszillated-low-pressure" track... forgive me about this 
if you really want to learn and improve you should first improve your equipment...more modern samples (selfdone via equilisation and compressing etc or bought) that have more kick/punch for drums, snares, claps, highhats and so on...
and then you REALLY should try a look at a much more useful synthesizer. the one´s you use seem to be free, but they sound for normal as they are priced

just for you i put 3 synths with nearly the same config in a row...the first is the free superwave p8 in max config, second is the vanguard and the third is rob papens predator. i think you really should hear a difference.
if you really want to improve, stop walking for and backward all the time with the same equipment, improve to get impressive  |

Omg Wings of Death!
How I loved the music in it!
Does anyone know where I can get the original songs of that game?
I used to have one on tape with a cool leadguitar in it.
Btw that mix sounds damn great, I miss those good old Amiga times!

Very nice Remix. Reminds me in those old Amiga days. I agree with Chief I loved the soundtrack too. It was my favoured arcade shooter those times |

Thx a lot...hmmm.
I had a tape where some Amiga titles were reproduced with real instruments in a studio.
Turrican, Apidya (Still have the cd´s) and also Wings of death - Title. But I dont have the tape no more.
Also cant find a cd of Jochen Hippel on the internet.
Sad.... |
