PC tracker that supports saving in original Amiga mod-format
Reply with quote

Hi
I've been asked to make an amiga module for a Amiga production to be released at Breakpoint 2009. The track needs to comply with "original Amiga Protracker 4-channel module" format.

Do anyone know of a PC tracker that can save files into that format?

Otherwise you can always use WinUAE and tHA oRiGINAL pROTRACK3R! .. Done that several times myself, since moving samples between the PC and the Amiga is a pain if you have to use disks .. Smile

Nowadays I use my CF card for the miggy though..

Yes, the answer you want is MilkyTracker. Take yourself to http://www.milkytracker.net/?about.

Milky can save accurate 4channel mods, M.K. files.

Try it today Smile If you liked Fasttracker 2 you will like this to.

I need to do some Protracker mods for som Ds - Games.

I use madtracker for the main work, and then i use modplugtracker and milkytracker for converting and the afterworks.

Alternatively you could use WinUAE. But i wouldn't suggest you using the original Protracker, since, meanwhile, it's a little bit too clumpsy and uncomfortable.
But on Amiga you could use Octamed Soundstudio (available on aminet)
Its works fine with WinUae, is pretty easy to handle, supports PC-drives and you could directly save the song as MOD. But it has some problems in dealing with 16 bit samples, so you should convert them before.

i hate signatures Wink

Well, that's just a bare question of taste and what you're used to Wink..

Me personally have always thought that Octamed is too clumsy =)
